SMASH the Coup is a citizen initiative to Separate Musk And State, and Halt the coup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We the people of the United States, alarmed by inaction from Congress to stop the ongoing attempt at a coup by an unelected billionaire, emphatically say<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

to the coup. We demand that our elected representatives and appointed government officials immediately sever any and all connections that allow Elon Musk to influence our government and thereby SMASH (Separate Musk And State, and Halt) the Coup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Issue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, has inserted himself into the U.S. government via fraudulent pretexts, using his meme-inspired joke of an agency, DOGE. His abuse of DOGE compromises the operation of government agencies, that are supposed to be subject to Congressional oversight. Elon Musk has absolutely no Constitutional authority; our Senate has not confirmed him as a presidential appointee; he has no right to the power he is wielding over government. His actions are not only a waste of tax payer money, but also an outright abuse of real government servants and the very Constitution of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond policy based mangling of government, he seeks to threaten its routine operation by inserting himself into the computer operating systems of mission critical agencies such as the FAA, SSA and IRS. He has already abused such power, by threatening to withdraw Starlink services from Ukraine if its government did not do his bidding<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musk deems government money not paid to Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, which heavily depend on U.S. government funding and subsidies, as waste and\/or fraud. Musk has wrestled government agencies into awarding additional contracts of over 400 million dollars to his companies in just the first few weeks of this administration. \u201cSaving\u201d money through cuts to essential services for the people, while awarding money to his own companies, is daylight robbery from every person in our country. Moreover, he is attempting to hijack the U.S. Treasury Department\u2019s payment systems to steal the Power of the Purse and determine who gets paid by the US government. Our constitution assigned the Power of the Purse solely to the House of Representatives, because our founders understood the danger of assigning this power to just one man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control of government policy and the Power of the Purse must be restored to Congress. Musk and DOGE are the very definition of waste, fraud, and abuse. Musk must be removed and DOGE must be dismantled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Demands<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driven by the ongoing violations of our constitution and rights we are demanding that our elected representatives and appointed government officials honor their oath to uphold the Constitution and push for immediate actions to sever connections between the U.S.Government and Elon Musk. Such actions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Immediately revoke Elon Musk’s Special Government Employee (SGE) status and remove<\/strong> him from any formal role in government. (His financial interests in SpaceX, Tesla, and Starlink create egregious conflicts-of-interest that compromise decision-making and raise concerns about access to sensitive data.)
\u25cf Dismantle<\/strong> and shutdown DOGE.
\u25cf Launch a thorough investigation into any unauthorized access of personally identifiable information (PII) and hold those responsible accountable for such violations<\/strong>.
\u25cf Full restitution<\/strong> for individuals whose data was improperly accessed, traded, or sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This list is not exhaustive. Any and all connections that allow Musk to influence our government, must be severed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Action Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2714 Direct Political Pressure: Call on elected leaders to push for congressional action.
